A space where people and businesses thrive together

The story

A People Operations Consultant is brought into a company to figure out the following problem…

The problem

“We are an organisation with modern offices and perks, and we offer our services to some really nice and recognisable companies.

But we are struggling to attract and retain the right people.

On top of that, performance is not where we think it can be.”

The observations

The offices are indeed beautiful, there are free snacks, shower facilities for exercise enthusiasts, and a games room. Most importantly, the teams seem to get on well.

The thing is that some people don’t even know there is a shower, the snacks only cater for some people’s taste, and no one ever plays any games.

Furthermore, our consultant discovers that there is no recruitment process, interviewers are not trained, a recruitment cycle takes over 90 days, and, finally, there is no retention strategy.

At the same time, team members seem too anxious about performance, and team leaders are too focused on generating reports, which they are good at, but forget to lead their teams, which they haven’t been shown how to do.

The explanation

Let’s generalise for a moment, so that we can understand the source of the problem.
To start at the end goal

Every business is a live organism whose long-term goal is survival through time.

What we call sustainability

5
The only way to achieve sustainability is

to keep generating profit, consistently

If efficiency is the main indicator for financial gain,

what are the resources that affect it?

Our equipment

Our processes

1

The employer in our story had the best intentions. But they assumed that it was enough to have good clients and to offer modern benefits. In the meantime, employees had no sense of purpose, were lost in processes that did not work, and were exhausted chasing performance numbers that were made for them without considering them.

The Conclusion

So, to recap, it does not matter how big your investment is in state-of-the-art equipment, or how well-tuned your workflow is, if your people are not equally as productive.

And up to now, there is only one known way to motivate your employees to reach their full potential, and that is to give them worth.

You see, developing a human-centric way of working is not a nice-to-have. It’s not a luxury. It’s the No1 requirement to meet as a business owner who wants to achieve long-term profit and business sustainability.

With the change of generations as well as the Great Resignation marking a new era in the employer-employee relations, SUCCESSIBLE offers people operations solutions that build a solid bridge between business sustainability and employee engagement. Solutions that empower any willing business to establish themselves as a long-lasting and highly desirable employer.
